Cordyline australis Southern Splendour

Cordyline australis Southern Splendour is a frost-tender, evergreen palm-like tree, which forms a single, upright trunk over time. This decorative, subtropical beauty is crowned by a dense cluster of dark bronze/green sword-like leaves with pink margins. The leaves are narrow and arching and have a tough, leathery texture. Cordyline australis is native to subtropical parts of New Zealand, where it grows in coastal areas, forest edges and high mountain forests, along river shores and swamps. It can handle drought and cold circumstances pretty well. It’s great for patio containers as well as for landscaping. Cordyline australis is commonly known as Cabbage Palm or Cabbage Tree. Other internationally used common names for Cordyline australis are: Giant Dracaena; Giant Dracena; Grass Palm; New Zealand Cabbage Tree; Koolboom; Koolplant; Palm Lily; tī kōuka. Evanthia has Cordyline australis Southern Splendour starting material available all year round, as tissue culture young plants. Ask our team for the Cordyline cultivation manual for commercial production. Check out all Cordylines, trunk-forming or clump-forming, in the Evanthia range.
