Dypsis lutescens, or Golden Palm, is a popular, robust houseplant with a rapid growth and air-purifying qualities. This multi-stemmed palm produces clusters of upright, bamboo-like stems and graceful, fresh-green feathery leaves. Dypsis is native to Madagascar, where it grows in moist rainforests and on slopes and riverbeds. Other internationally used names for Dypsis lutescens are: Areca Palm, Bamboo Palm, Golden Cane Palm or Butterfly Palm.
