Yucca gloriosa Variegata is a robust, evergreen perennial shrub that eventually forms a woody trunk and becomes more tree-like. At first, this decorative, subtropical eyecatcher forms a dense rosette of attractive sturdy, dark green leaves with yellow coloured margins. The leaves are sword-like with sharp tips. Later on the leaves will adorn the top of the trunk. Yucca gloriosa is native to South East USA, mainly the shores of Carolina to Florida, where it grows along the coastline on rocky slopes and sand dunes. The slow-growing Yucca gloriosa is quite hardy and great for patio containers, gardens and landscaping. In late summer and autumn its cream bell-shaped flowers attract pollinators to the garden.
