NEW: Hypoestes Coloratus™

27 July 2023 - 's-Gravenzande, the Netherlands
NEW: Hypoestes Coloratus™

From window sill to wall art

The Polka Dot Plant, or Hypoestes phyllostachya, is internationally also known as Freckle Face, Baby’s Tears or Flamingo plant. All cute references to its striking leaves with soft colours and typical leaf markings. Native to Madagascar, Hypoestes phyllostachya grows in its natural habitat in shady places in the understories of forests and rainforests. It is a true creeper and can easily form a dense colourful carpet. This foliage plant has great adaptability and is highly decorative in and around the house as a houseplant, or (in temperate climates) as an annual in patio pots and borders. Thanks to its creeping features, Hypoestes is also great to incorporate into green wall objects, where it brings surprising colours among other tropical foliage plants.

>> Meet Coloratus™, the new Hypoestes from Evanthia

The new selection

Hypoestes phyllostachya Coloratus™ is the latest selection from Evanthia. Our Hypoestes is a cheerful, tropical foliage plant with a neat and compact growing habit and a playful appearance. The colourful, heart-shaped leaves are decorated with countless tiny speckles and spots, as if they had just been painted on. The Coloratus™ selection is available in White, Red and Pink and well-suited for pot sizes from 6 to 17 cm. You grow them (depending on the type of starting material and chosen pot size) in just 5 to 14 weeks to a beautiful finished product. Combine them for a fresh, vibrant mix, or choose one colour in a luxurious pot for an extra fancy look. As you can see: with Hypoestes Coloratus™ you can go either way!
